Our dairy
At Mas Alba we produce artisanal goat cheeses using milk from our own herd, raised and cared for on the family estate in Terradelles, at the heart of the Pla de l’Estany. Controlling the whole process — from grazing to affinage — guarantees a product with authenticity, character and a real connection to the land, which arrives at our dairy to be crafted into products.
Each cheese is much more than food: it is the result of a respectful production process aligned with natural cycles, a commitment to sustainability and proximity, and a way of practising the craft that values Catalonia’s agro food heritage.
Choosing a Mas Alba cheese means taking home a piece of rural identity, made in our workshop with patience, passion and connection. At the dairy we have various machines and tools that allow us to make the cheeses while ensuring traceability.
The production process
At Mas Alba we make cheeses from the raw milk of our own goat herd, following an artisanal process respectful of the natural rhythm Attention to every detail allows us to maintain self-sufficiency and connection with the surrounding land.
The use of a vegetable rennet called Herbacol gives our cheeses unique aromatic notes and a distinctive character that links them to the landscape they come from.
Key spaces are the workshop, where the entire artisanal process takes place; the maturation cave — an old cool chamber conditioned to keep ideal temperature and humidity — where the cheeses undergo a long affinage; and the tasting room, a welcoming space where visitors can share the experience and discover the identity of our cheeses.
